Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account on Hostrrr, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Hostrrr.

We may offer additional services or features that are subject to supplementary terms. Your use of such features constitutes acceptance of those additional terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Hostrrr. If you are between 13 and 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you may only use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. Your Account

When you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain and promptly update your account information to keep it accurate
• Keep your account credentials secure and not share access with others
• Immediately notify us of any unauthorized access to your account
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

You may not create multiple accounts, use another person's account, or transfer your account to anyone else without our written consent.

We reserve the right to verify your identity through our KYC provider (SumSub) and may restrict certain features until verification is complete.

4. User-Generated Content

Hostrrr allows you to create, upload, share, and interact with content including event listings, messages, photos, videos, and profile information (collectively, "User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, but by posting it on Hostrrr, you grant us:

• A non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable license to use, display, reproduce, distribute, and modify your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service
• The right to remove or modify User Content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines

You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights to post your User Content
• Your User Content does not infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights
• Your User Content complies with all applicable laws and these Terms

5. Prohibited Conduct

Hostrrr has a zero tolerance policy for abuse. You agree not to use the Service to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, intimidate, or stalk any person
• Post or share hate speech, discriminatory content, or content promoting violence
• Upload or distribute sexually explicit, pornographic, or obscene material
• Post illegal content or promote illegal activities
• Impersonate another person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation
• Spam, send unsolicited messages, or engage in phishing
• Create events with false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Collect or harvest personal data of other users without consent
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts, systems, or networks
• Use the Service for commercial solicitation not related to event hosting
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission

Violation of this section may result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination, at our sole discretion.

6. Content Moderation & Reporting

We are committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming community. To that end:

• Users can report messages, events, and other users directly within the app
• All reports are reviewed by our team and appropriate action is taken
• We may proactively monitor content for compliance with these Terms and Community Guidelines
• We may remove any User Content that, in our judgment, violates these Terms, without prior notice
• Repeated violations will result in escalating enforcement actions, up to and including permanent account termination

If you believe content on Hostrrr violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful, please use the in-app reporting feature or contact us at support@hostrrr.com.

7. Account Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, at our sole discretion, if:

• You violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines
• Your conduct poses a risk to the safety of other users
• You engage in fraudulent or deceptive activity
• Your identity verification fails or reveals false information
• We are required to do so by law

Voluntary account deletion: You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. Upon deletion, your account will enter a 14-day grace period. If you log back in during this period, your account will be reactivated. After 14 days, your account and associated data will be permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including, without limitation, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution).

8. Payments & Fees

8.1 Payment Processing

All payments on Hostrrr are processed securely through Stripe. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. We do not store your full credit card or bank account information.

8.2 Event Pricing

Hosts set the price for their events. When you book a paid event, you agree to pay the listed price plus any applicable platform fees. Prices are displayed in the currency specified by the host.

8.3 Platform Fees

Hostrrr may charge a platform fee on paid event transactions. The fee amount will be clearly disclosed before you complete your booking.

8.4 Refund Policy

Refund eligibility depends on the event's cancellation policy as set by the host. In general:

• If a host cancels an event, all attendees will receive a full refund
• If you cancel your attendance, refund availability is subject to the host's cancellation policy
• Disputes regarding refunds should be directed to support@hostrrr.com

8.5 Host Payouts

Hosts receive payouts for paid events through Stripe, minus applicable platform fees and Stripe processing fees. Payout timing and methods are subject to Stripe's policies.

9. Intellectual Property

The Hostrrr name, logo, app design, visual interfaces, graphics, and all software, code, and underlying technology are the property of Hostrrr and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or create derivative works based on the Service
• Use our trademarks, logos, or branding without written permission
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service

User Content remains your property, subject to the license granted in Section 4.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT
• WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY CONTENT
• WARRANTIES THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE

Hostrrr is a platform that connects hosts and guests. We do not organize, manage, or control events listed on the platform. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, the quality of events, or any interactions that occur at events.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL HOSTRRR, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
• Personal injury or property damage resulting from your use of the Service or attendance at events
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
• Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Hostrrr in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred US dollars (USD $100), whichever is greater.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Hostrrr and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; (d) your violation of any rights of another person or entity; or (e) any event you host or attend through the Service.

13. Dispute Resolution

We encourage you to contact us first at support@hostrrr.com to resolve any disputes informally. If we are unable to resolve a dispute informally, you and Hostrrr agree to the following:

• Any dispute shall first be submitted to mediation before an agreed-upon mediator
• If mediation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration conducted in Lagos, Nigeria
• You agree to bring claims only in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative proceeding

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Lagos, Nigeria, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts.

15. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you through in-app notifications or other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
